PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform appropriate response by grasping content of a connection error on the side of an imaging apparatus when the connection error occurs when an image is transferred by connecting the imaging apparatus to an external device. SOLUTION: A control part 32 of a digital camera 1 requests connection to a host 2 which transfers image information by a USB cable 3, analyzes the content of the connection error when no response is obtained from the host 2 to a request of connection and displays the analyzed content of the connection error on an LCD 41.
