<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pedestrian protecting device for a vehicle capable of preventing erroneous operation of pedestrian protection means. <P>SOLUTION: This device comprises a collision sensor 1 installed to a vehicle and detecting collision, pedestrian protection means 2 protecting the pedestrian colliding with the vehicle, and an ECU 3 receiving signals from the collision sensor 1 and outputting control signals for actuating the pedestrian protection means 2. The ECU 3 has a waveshape extraction part 31 extracting signal waveshapes of the output signals, a waveshape processing part 32 smoothening the signal waveforms and generating the smoothened signal waveshapes, and a judgement part 33 outputting control signals for actuating the pedestrian protection means 2 when the smoothed signal waveforms satisfy a predetermined collision judgement condition. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
