<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water heater dispensing with draining equipment for discharging drain. <P>SOLUTION: In this water heater 1, the drain generated in a sub-heat exchanger 10 is absorbed by cloth 50 supported by a cloth supporting member 45. The air supplied by an air supply fan 5 for combustion is partially distributed toward the cloth 50 retaining the drain, thus the drain retained by the cloth 50 is vaporized and discharged to the outside of a water heater main body 2. Thus the draining equipment for discharging the drain becomes unnecessary, and further piping work and the like for the draining equipment becomes unnecessary. Further the vaporizing efficiency of the cloth 50 can be improved as the cloth 50 is not only suspended by the cloth supporting member 45 but also the discharge air of the air supply fan 5 for combustion is partially distributed thereto.
