PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new stress-driven type photocatalyst system for overcoming a restriction in various kinds of conventional systems using a photocatalyst, and developing functions such as decomposition, purification, antibacterial properties and the like by the photocatalyst, even under the condition that light irradiation by natural light or irradiation is low or can be hardly expected. SOLUTION: The stress-driven type photocatalyst system comprises a stress emitter for converting an external mechanical energy loaded into light to emit light and a photocatalyst, wherein the photocatalyst is made to emit light using the stress emitter as a light source on site.
