The invention relates to a method for producing a recombinant hepatitis C virus-like particle comprising introducing into (i) a cell which autonomously replicates an RNA replicon including a base sequence encoding a 5' noncoding region, NS3 protein, NS4A protein, NS4B protein, NS5A protein and NS5B protein in the genomic RNA derived from a hepatitis C virus strain and a base sequence including a 3' noncoding region, (ii) a vector expressing Core protein, E1 protein, E2 protein and p7 protein derived from the same or a different hepatitis C virus strain in (i), culturing the cell and collecting the produced virus-like particle and a recombinant hepatitis C virus particle produced by the method.
