PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology that differentiates detection accuracy of an arbitrary range in a search range from that of another range for each of a plurality of search ranges.SOLUTION: A range-finding device (1) is loaded in vehicles, and comprises a plurality of range-finding units (11, 12 and 13), in which targets existing in a search range serving a predetermined angle range for each range-finding unit are detected by respective range-finding units. In the range-finding unit, a transmission unit (40) transmits an electromagnetic wave, and a reception unit (50) receives a reflection wave from the target reflecting the electromagnetic wave. A distance detection unit (90) detects a distance up to the target on the basis of the reflection wave received by the reception unit. A setting unit (80) sets a range predetermined for each range-finding unit of the search range as a first search range, and another range thereof as a second search range, and sets the first search range and second search range so as to make at least one of a transmission mode by the transmission unit and a reception mode by the reception unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
