<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for unifying styles of documents of an image file form without enforcing a job load associated with style edit of the documents on an operator. <P>SOLUTION: A control section 11 separately extracts data associated with document styles (style data) and data associated with contents of the document (contents data) from read document image data. Then the control section 11 revises style data of a plurality of documents into style data representing the same style. For example, the styles of the style data of the documents are unified into the style of the document read first by a read section 13, under the assumption that the document read at first is printed on one side of paper of the size A4 printed for horizontal printing in 2up print, the font of the title is Gothic style, a size of 12 point and the font of the main text is Mincho type, a size of 10 point.
