The method involves continuously determining geographical position (P) of participants (KT) provided for scheduled events (V), using global positioning system (GPS) functions. A tuning time (ta) is determined for on schedule tuning of the participants by continuous comparison of the actually determined geographic position (P) of the participants with a preset position of the events, based on actually determined distance (S) of both the positions and a motion speed of the participants determined from the positions. An independent claim is also included for a device for determining tuning time for scheduled events with geographic information.
