Chimney furnace (1) has a fireplace (2) which is covered by a flue (5) merging into a chimney (6). The flue and the chimney are designed as double-walled to the border of a thermal insulating layer (10,14). Inner wall (9,13) of the flue and the chimney is coated with a thermal insulating layer whereby an air layer (12,18) is provided between the insulating layer and an interspaced outer wall (11,17) of flue or chimney.
