A cylinder unit (1) for a cylinder lawn mower, comprising a fixedly mounted abutment (3), a cylinder means (2), which is rotatable about a longitudinal axis (L) and which is provided with at least one knife (6), and an insertion means (7). Each knife is (6) by rotation of the cylinder means (2) movable to a cutting position (K), in which the knife (6) cooperates with the abutment (3) to allow grass cutting, and the insertion means (7) is by rotation of the cylinder means (2) arranged for engaging and inserting grass into the abutment (3). The insertion means (7) comprises a plurality of discs (5), which are concentrically arranged about and equidistantly arranged along said longitudinal axis (L).
