A unique barcode is provided on tax return documents received by the tax office and on VAT receipts given to customers which is registered in a central computer system. These barcodes are entered into a lottery draw with cash prizes. This draw can take place at weekends and midweek. The lottery funds are provided by the Finance Ministry by setting aside a fixed percentage of the VAT collected. |
