The exhaust system, containing an oxidation catalyser for the exhaust from a Diesel engine, followed by a fuel injector (22) and a particle filter, incorporates a unit (15) to rotate a fluid after the injector and ahead of the filter, designed so that the rotation is effected locally and about an axis (20) parallel to the local axis of the exhaust line. The direction of the injection can coincide locally with the axis of rotation, and the exhaust gases can be fed to the point of the injection in a direction that lies tangentially to the rotary motion via a spiral duct (15) above the injector.
