<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide an image forming apparatus exclusive for RFID (Radio Frequency Identification). <P>SOLUTION: A communication means is constructed to be attachable to and detachable from an apparatus body. When the communication means is not attached, the image forming apparatus can be used as a general OA printer. When the communication means is attached on the apparatus body and a predetermined program is installed, the image forming apparatus can be made as a printer exclusive for RFID. The apparatus body can be manufactured as the general OA printer needed a lot, and therefore can be mass-produced, enabling reduction of a manufacturing cost. To a user who wishes to use the apparatus as the printer exclusive for RFID, it is possible to inexpensively provide the printer exclusive for RFID to the user if the communication means is attached as an option to the printer reduced in the manufacturing cost by the mass-production. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
