PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reliable diagnostic and prognostic means, a vaccine for prevention and/or treatment of disease, and an immunotherapeutic remedy. SOLUTION: The newly characterized polypeptide containing HCV epitope, the method for producing such the polypeptide, the method (e.g. a diagnostic agent, a vaccine and a remedy) for using such the peptide, and the product, composition or preparation (e.g. an immunoassay method or a polypeptide immobilized on other supporter and an oral or injectable pharmacological composition) suitable for such the use are provided.
