PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure the secure fitting of protrusions and holes or recessed parts formed at the flanges of a supply side spool and a take-up side spool respectively at two adjacent spots. SOLUTION: This ink ribbon spool assembly comprises the supply-side spool 2 around which an ink ribbon 1 is wound, with a plurality of protrusions 4 formed at a specified interval on one circle of the side of the flange 3 formed on both side parts, and the take-up spool 5 around which the ink ribbon 1 is taken up, with a plurality of holes 7 to be fitted to the protrusions 4 of the supply-side spool 2 at a specified interval on one circle of the side of the flange 6 formed on both side parts. In addition, guide protrusion parts 9 are formed on the side of the flange 3 of the supply-side spool 2 and come into contact with the outer peripheral edge of the flange 6 of the take-up side spool 5 to guide so as to fit the two adjacent protrusions 4 of the supply-side spool 2 and the two adjacent holes 7 of the take-up side spool 5 into each other.
