Non-melting reaction product (A), with high glass transition temperature and small solution viscosity, preferably comprises a reaction product (I) of at least a ketone-aldehyde resin (a) and at least an aromatic and/or cyclo-aliphatic di- or polyisocyanate (b), where (I) possesses a melting point of 0-200[deg]C, a glass transition temperature of 100-200[deg]C, a viscosity (in 50% ethyl acetate) of 50-10000 mPas and is soluble in usual solvents. Independent claims are included for: (1) the preparation of (A) comprising reacting component (a) and component (b) in the form of solution or melt in the presence of a catalyst; and (2) an article that is improved using (A).
