PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a configuration for safely stopping heating without a time delay leading to generation of Joule heat due to a leaked magnetic flux, or the like, in a metallic part on the outside of a fixing roller when abnormal heating occurs in a fixing device of an image forming apparatus using an induction heating system. SOLUTION: A heat roller 101 is made of a ferromagnetic magnetic shunt alloy of which the Curie point is set to a safe temperature or lower which is higher than a fixing temperature and is free from ignition and smoking, and a magnetic flux detection means like a detection coil is provided on the outside of an exciting coil counter part, and a leaked magnetic flux is detected to stop the power when a roller surface reaches the Curie point due to abnormal heating, whereby a safe fixing device is obtained.
