A method for operating a radiation source (13) having a UV-light-producing lamp (14) for exposing inner walls of elongate cavities (10) to UV light, wherein the lamp (14) is supplied with electrical energy via a power supply device (21, 22), and an arrangement for carrying out the method are characterized by the fact that the power supply device comprises a first switched mode power supply (21) having a relatively low electrical power and a second switched mode power supply (22) having a relatively high electrical power, and that the first switched mode power supply (21) and the second switched mode power supply (22) are connected in parallel with one another and are electrically connected to the lamp (14) either individually or else together. |
