PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device which is capable of sufficiently removing toner stuck to a fixing roller even at the time of a high process speed and is capable of achieving excellent cleaning performance for a long period of time. SOLUTION: A fixing device 20 includes: a main cleaning means 29 for pressing a cleaning member 23 to the fixing roller (a heating roller 21 or a pressure roller 22) by a press-contact roller 24 to clean the fixing roller; and a cleaning assisting member 30 which is provided above the main cleaning means 29 in a rotation direction of the fixing roller so as to be brought into contact with a surface of the fixing roller. The fixing roller is preliminarily cleaned by the cleaning assisting member 30 before being cleaned by the main cleaning member 29. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
