PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic charge image developing toner to be used for developing an electrostatic latent image in an electrophotographic method, electrostatic recording method, electrostatic printing method or the like, more particularly, to obtain an electrostatic charge image developing toner achieving sufficient low temperature fixing property and a wide fixing temperature region, and capable of giving a preferable high-definition image. SOLUTION: The toner is obtained by preparing an organic liquid phase by dissolving or dispersing at least a compound having an active hydrogen group, a polymer having a moiety reactive with the active hydrogen group, a colorant and a release agent in an organic solvent or by dissolving or dispersing a composition containing at least a part of the above compound having an active hydrogen group, the polymer having a moiety reactive with the active hydrogen group, the colorant and the release agent, dispersing the organic liquid phase in an aqueous medium to allow the compound having an active hydrogen group to react with the polymer having a moiety reactive with the hydrogen group, removing the organic solvent after or during the reaction, and cleaning and drying the product.
