PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning blade for use in a system for cleaning off toner, which is capable of obtaining satisfactory cleaning performance. SOLUTION: The cleaning blade 200 for use in the system for cleaning off toner T has a relation of Rt>L1 wherein Rt is a radius of particles of the toner T and L1 is thickness of a front end having high hardness and having a cleaning function. A minute space h1 is interposed between an image carrier 103 and the front end of the cleaning blade not to be in contact with each other. Since the toner T on the surface of the image carrier 103 is scooped and removed by the edge of the cleaning blade in spite of the reduction in particle size of the toner, high cleaning performance is secured and the durability is improved.
