The panel (1) has a joint edge designed as an edge band (2) that is made of thermoplastic material, where the joint edge is superimposed on narrow sides of the panel. A fixed spring (3) is formed at the narrow sides of the panel, and the edge band has a groove (4) corresponding to the spring, where the spring stands in effective connection with the groove. The spring has a width of 25 to 60 percentage of a thickness of the panel, and a height of 35 to 70 percentage of the thickness of the band, where the spring is designed in a semi-circular, prismatic or trapezoidal shape. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a structural panel.
