<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To relatively reduce electric power consumption by improving efficiency in the magnetic field generation of an electromagnetic coil and relatively reduce magnetic noise acting on the vicinity of the electromagnetic coil in an electric potential measuring apparatus to be driven through the use of the electromagnetic coil. <P>SOLUTION: The electric potential measuring apparatus includes a detection electrode 3 at a part opposed to an object to be measured 2, an oscillating member 1 having a magnetic body 9 arranged at another part, and the electromagnetic coil 10 fixed to the magnetic body 9. The periphery of the electromagnetic coil 10 is covered with a shield 12 made of a magnetic material except a part approximately opposed to the magnetic body 9.
