PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To operate an imaging device while suppressing generation of dark current with high transfer efficiency or by reducing influences of degradation in the transmission efficiency. SOLUTION: The driving circuit 2 has a transfer pulse supply circuit 2A for generating first transfer pulses Vψ1 and Vψ2 to be plus side potentials (VH=0[V]) on standby including a time for receiving light when signal charges are generated in a solid-state imaging device (CCD1) and second transfer pulses Vψ3 and Vψ4 where a minus side potential VL' is an absolute value and smaller than a minus side potential VL of the first transfer pulses Vψ1 and Vψ2, and supplies a charge transfer part 14 of the CCD 1 with the generated transfer pulses Vψ1 to Vψ4.
