PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device, a recording control method, and a recording control program for preventing occurrence of any unfinished recording having been caused at recording start. SOLUTION: At a point of time before a recording request detection section 101 detects a recording request, a key generating section 102 generates a key for encrypting content data and temporarily stores the data, and when the recording request detection section 101 detects the recording request, an encryption section 103 encrypts the content data by using the temporarily stored key, so that the occurrence of unfinished recording at the recording start can be prevented.
