PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the inconvenience that it is difficult to apply processing in a conventional terminal processing method for forming a terminal part integrated with a cladding by melting an end part of an optical fiber bundle together with a glass pipe, and air bubbles remain in the melted part to cause deterioration of an incident efficiency, or optical fibers on the peripheral side are bent with a large curvature to produce a bending loss. SOLUTION: This invention is the method for processing the terminal of an optical fiber light guide including the steps for: supporting a vertically long vacuum chamber communicating with a vacuum pump so that the chamber is rotatable around a shaft and constituting a penetration supporting part of the optical fiber bundle on the tip side; engaging the glass pipe on the end part of the optical fiber bundle with the coating of the optical fibers removed and then air-tightly supporting the end part in the above penetration supporting part with the end part exposed; and melting the end part of the optical fiber bundle together with the glass pipe while rotating the vacuum chamber and operating the vacuum pump to form the terminal part integrated with the cladding of the optical fibers at the end part of the optical fiber bundle by melting.
