INFRARED SENSOR, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect infrared rays emitted from a human body efficiently with high sensitivity without requiring any special cooling device.

SOLUTION: A detection part and a non-detection part constituting a single sensor are planarly formed polygonal equal with or more than a pentagonal shape having no angle smaller than or equal with a perpendicular, so that a ratio of an area of the detection part to an area of the non-detection part constituting the single sensor for obtaining a predetermined aperture can become a predetermined value. In connection between two single sensors adjacent to each other within the same row on a supporting substrate, wiring is performed to connect in series the non-detection part of an upstream side single sensor and the detection part of a downstream side single sensor. In arrangement between two single sensors adjacent to each other within the same column on the supporting substrate, detection parts constituting single sensors on one row and non-detection parts constituting single sensors on the other row are disposed alternately to each other.
