<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, capable of detecting a fault in the apparatus and performing automatic tone correction for each color to acquire a high-quality image, even if the fault occurs. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 comprises an image producing unit 18 for recording and outputting color images of at least 4 colors on a form, and a reading unit 17 for reading the color image. A monochromatic gradation for each color recorded and outputted by the image producing unit 18 is read by the reading unit 17, and is added with corrections for adjustment at the apparatus 1 correcting the gradation γ of the image producing unit 18, if an image density is too low to fall into a predetermined range for the solid portion of a single color or plural colors. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
