<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device that can normally display a wide viewing angle as in the conventional manner and also can narrow the viewing angle by lowering contrast with leakage of light in a direction not viewed when it is necessary. <P>SOLUTION: In structure of a liquid crystal display, normally, three color pixels of RGB are one unit, however, four colored pixels to which a pixel of W (it may be white without resist or colored) with viewing angle characteristics different from that of RGB is added are considered as one unit. viewing angle control becomes possible by providing viewing angle characteristics different from that of other RGB to the pixel of W. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
