摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To arrange a superconductive magnet in the vicinity of molten metal by reducing the thickness of heat insulation walls by a large amount. SOLUTION: A cryostat for a magnetic field generator which applies magnetic field to a high-temperature molten substance W mainly heat transferred by heat radiation by using the superconductive magnet 8 has a common outer shell 1 of a heat insulated vacuum container which surrounds a coolant bath 15 incorporating the superconductive magnet 8 and stores the coolant 14 for superconductivity. The inside of the outer shell 1 is partitioned into a high-temperature insulated region 2 on the side of the high-temperature molten substance W and a superconductivity maintaining region 3 including the coolant bath 15 by a dividing wall 4 and is also constituted of two vacuum regions independent of each other. The high-temperature heat insulated region 2 is provided with radiation shields 10 which reflect radiation heat from the high-temperature molten substance W and the radiation shields 10 are provided with slits on their surfaces.
