PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle navigation apparatus for searching for the facility most suitable for user's preference and guiding the user to it. SOLUTION: The on-vehicle navigation apparatus comprises a photographing means for photographing the surroundings of a vehicle, a signboard information extracting means for extracting signboard information including at least charge information related to an article or service from the photographed image data, a vehicle position detecting means for detecting the position of the vehicle at which the signboard information is photographed, a facility position detecting means for detecting the position of the facility providing the signboard based on the extracted signboard information and the detected vehicle position, and a signboard information storage means for storing the extracted signboard information and the detected facility position.
