PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a sealing process of a glass tube and an electrode easy, carry out positioning of the electrode relatively easily, and carry out manufacturing advantageously in cost performance. SOLUTION: This is the electrode 12a for a cold-cathode discharge tube arranged at the end part of the glass tube 11 of the cold-cathode discharge tube 1, has a sealing part 21 having the nearly same outer diameter as the inner diameter of the glass tube 11, has a protruding electrode part 22 which has the smaller outer diameter than that of the sealing part 21 and which is integrally installed coaxially on one side of the sealing part 21, and has a protruding part 23 for a lead wire connection which is protruded on the other side of the sealing part 21 and integrally installed. A hollow part 31 opening to the end face of the protruding electrode part 22 is installed, and the protruding electrode part 22 is cylindrically formed by the hollow part 31.
