A motor control system (104, 114) for controlling a motor (102) includes control logic and a motor controller (295). The control logic is operable to generate a control signal at a first periodic time responsive to a synchronization signal (167). The motor controller (295) is operable to generate a drive signal for the motor (102) based on the reference signal at a second periodic time synchronized with respect to the first periodic time.
