#CMT# #/CMT# The method involves using fast Fourier transform (FFT) for voice and music, and decomposing frames of the Fourier transform into front and rear planes based on the energy of a band. Each frame is divided into a front plane constituted of large points and into a rear plane constituted of energy bands. The magnitudes of local peaks and a single imaginary part are only used, for the voice. The magnitudes and the phases of the points of the front plane and rear plane are used for the music and all the audio signals. A partial overlapping method is used with 50 percent of overlapping for the music. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Used for compressing and decompressing audio (claimed) such as voice and music, in bidirectional voice communication over voice over Internet Protocol (IP) or portable telephones, in audio broadcastings over web radio, and in the storage of audio data such as files on hard disk. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The method allows compression and decompression of audio in a simple manner, with high quality. The usage of the single imaginary part permits to reduce the edge effects while preserving the voice quality. The usage of the partial overlapping method with 50 percent of overlapping allows suppression of the edge effects with the music and a perfect reconstruction, while allowing to achieve very high compression ratios and less calculations such as FFT calculations and energy calculations. |
