PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer material which can give elements excellent in practicality. SOLUTION: This polymer material which comprises a composition comprising a fluorescent conjugated polymer (A) and a phosphorescent compound (B), or a polymer having the structure of (A) and the structure of (B) in an identical molecule is characterized by satisfying the following conditions (1), (2) and (3). (1) At least one of the luminescence peak wavelengths of the fluorescent conjugated polymer (A) is <500 nm; (2) the luminescence peak wavelengths of the phosphorescent compound (B) is≥500 nm; and (3) the relation of the following expression is satisfied. ET<SB>A</SB>-ES<SB>A0</SB>≥(ET<SB>B</SB>-ES<SB>B0</SB>)-0.2 (unit ; eV) [wherein, ES<SB>A0</SB>represents energy in the ground state of the polymer (A); ET<SB>A</SB>represents energy in the lowest excited triplet state of the polymer (A); ES<SB>B0</SB>represents energy in the ground state of the phosphorescent compound (B); ET<SB>B</SB>represents energy in the lowest excited triplet state of the compound (B)].
