PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide constitution for a cask storage chamber capable of bringing an atmospheric temperature of a cask storage chamber inside into a temperature less than 47°C of a temperature limit value, on the minimum tunnel-like cross section, as to a radioactive material storage facility of constructing the tunnel-like cask storage chamber in a mountain or underground, and of storing casks in the cask storage chamber. SOLUTION: In this radioactive material storage facility 2 provided with a carry-in and -out port 9 and at least a pair of suction and exhaust ports 7, 8, in in the mountain 1 or underground, and for storing the substantially cylindrical casks 1 storing a radioactive material, in the cask storage chamber 3 formed tunnel-likely by a concrete wall 4, the casks 1 are arrayed to bring the shortest spatial distance between each cask 1 surface and a concrete wall face 4a of the cask storage chamber 3 into 0.45 times or more of a cask 1 diameter.
