The container has a base and side panels with storage elements defining storage in the interior of the container. A storage template is arranged under the instruments to provide position information for the instruments. A side panel (4) has an opening (10), by which the template (11) can be inserted from the outside into the inside of the container (1) between the base (2) and instruments (8). From this position the inserted template can be withdrawn. The template (11) is plate like and the opening in the side panel is provided as a slit. The template extends over the entire surface of base.
