<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a mobile phone to automatically apply format conversion processing to a video signal of a TV system corresponding to a country wherein the mobile phone stays and can output the processed video signal when the mobile phone outputs a video signal via its external output terminal. <P>SOLUTION: The mobile phone extracts country information included in an LAI (Local Area Identity) distributed from a wireless base station, detects a country wherein the mobile phone is located at present, and transmits the country information to a TV system information server apparatus 33 provided on a mobile communication network 32. The TV system information server apparatus 33 returns TV system information denoting a TV system corresponding to the country information to the mobile phone. The mobile phone applies the format conversion processing to the video signal on the basis of the TV system information and outputs the processed video signal from the external output terminal.
