<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ETC on-vehicle system which informs a user that data cannot be exchanged with an on-road apparatus, when an automobile enters an ETC lane in a state where the user has not inserted IC card to an on-vehicle apparatus, where the expiration date of the IC card mounted on the on-vehicle apparatus has passed, or where the usage of the ETC has not yet been contracted though an audio device incorporating the on-vehicle apparatus is purchased, etc.; and also to provide the on-vehicle apparatus and the audio device. <P>SOLUTION: It is determined whether toll reception processing can be performed, in response to whether the available IC card 53 has been mounted on the ETC on-vehicle apparatus 1. It is also determined whether the travelling lane of the automobile is the ETC lane.
