PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for a fuel cell excellent in a utilization factor and power generating characteristics.

SOLUTION: This catalyst 4 for a fuel cell has a conductive carrier 1, dendrimer 2 introduced to the conductive carrier, and a metal catalyst 3 carried on the conductive carrier, and the dendrimer is at least one of proton conductive group substituted 3,5-dibenzyloxy benzene and proton conductive group substituted 3,5-bis(3,5-bis(benzyloxy) benzyloxy)benzene, and the amount of the proton conductive group is ≤1.0×10-3(mol/g).
