PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capsule endoscope system allowing a quick treatment. SOLUTION: A receiver device 12 of this capsule endoscope system 2 is provided with a retention detecting circuit 57 detecting whether a capsule endoscope 11 is retained in a body cavity or not, and an alarm lamp 24 alarming it when the retention detecting circuit 57 detects the retention. The retention detecting circuit 57 comprises a first comparator 63 comparing image data of a present frame with those of a previous frame and finding a variation of a temporal movement of an observed site, a second comparator 64 comparing the found variation with a preset first threshold, and a timer 65 measuring a time when the variation is the first threshold or less.
