<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head protection airbag device capable of suppressing increases in weight and storage space, and smoothly developing and expanding an airbag on a vehicle inner side from the vicinity of an upper end of a pillar garnish. <P>SOLUTION: The airbag 19 of the head protection airbag device M1 is stored on an upper edge side of a window, and is developed and expanded so as to cover the window by pushing to open an airbag cover 8. The airbag 19 is provided with a shielding body part 35 for covering the vehicle inner side I of the window and a pillar part CP, and an upper edge side bag part 39 disposed in the vicinity of the upper end 7a of the pillar garnish. The upper edge side bag part 39 is disposed on an upstream side of gas for expansion flowing into the airbag from a pillar shielding part 36 of the shielding body part 35, and is formed so as to expand while blocking a part between the upper end 7a of the pillar garnish 7, and a body 1 side.
