<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce weight of a differential device provided with a differential gear and a differential housing as much as possible, suppress occurrence of noise and vibration, and to improve its durability. <P>SOLUTION: This differential housing 11 storing and supporting the differential gear is constituted by a plurality of structural bodies 12, 13 having different coefficients of linear expansion. The first structural body 12 arranged on the right side among them constitutes a so-called main body part of the differential housing 11 having an inside space storing substantially whole differential gear. An opening 14 for inserting the differential gear into the structural body 12 is formed on a left side face of the first structural body 12. The second structural body 13 on the other side is equivalent to a substantially disc-like lid attached and fixed to the structural body 12 to block the opening 14 of the first structural body 12, and its volume (volume of a constituent material) is smaller when compared with that of the first structural body 12. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
