PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an agricultural and horticultural insecticide having enhanced controlling effects on agricultural and horticultural crop insect pests, especially the Thysanoptera sp. and the Aleyrodes sp.. SOLUTION: The agricultural and horticultural insecticide comprises tolfenpyrad and a compound having an ergosterol biosynthesis inhibitory activity. The insecticidal activity, especially the insecticidal activity against the Thysanoptera sp. and the Aleyrodes sp. is remarkably enhanced by using the tolfenpyrad and the compound having the ergosterol biosynthesis inhibitory activity in combination.
