PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new oxetane ether compound capable of producing a polymer excellent in thick membrane-forming property, curing property, heat resistance, etc., a method for producing the same and an optical waveguide using the same. SOLUTION: This tetrakis-oxetane ether compound having a fluorene structure is produced by cesium-phenolating specific phenols with cesium salts, and then reacting with a sulfonic acid ester. Further, an optical waveguide comprising a substrate plate 1 and a cladding layer 2 formed on the substrate plate 1, and formed with a core part 3 having a prescribed pattern and transmitting light signals, in the cladding layer 2 is provided with that at least one of the cladding layer 2 and core part 3 is formed by a resin composition containing the tetrakis-oxetane ether compound having the fluorene structure.
