<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rollover protecting device which more surely protects passengers, prevents articles from entering the cabin, and increases the protecting performance for the passengers by developing an air bag even if a vehicle has rolled under a roof opened state. <P>SOLUTION: This rollover protecting device 11 is equipped with rollover protecting members 51 and 51 which support a car body when the vehicle rolls, first cushioning members (first airbag bodies) 88 and 91, second cushioning members (second airbag bodies) 82 and 83 which are arranged on the rollover protecting members, a first controlling means, and a second controlling means. In this case, the first cushioning members 88 and 91 are arranged in the vicinity (a roof front rail 34) of a front windshield 35. The first controlling means controls the development of the first cushioning members based on the information of a vehicle state detecting means. The second controlling means control the development of the second cushioning members.
