<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voice coil motor drive circuit and a magnetic disk memory wherein it is possible to accomplish both the enhancement of accuracy of magnetic head positioning control in tracking and access acceleration by shortening of a seek time. <P>SOLUTION: The magnetic disk memory includes:a voice coil motor (108) that moves a magnetic head and the voice coil motor drive circuit (110) that drives a driving current for the voice coil motor by PWM, detects a current of the coil and carries out feedback control, and thereby controls the positioning of the magnetic head. An output of an amplifier (113) for detecting a coil current of the voice coil motor is supplied to an error amplifier (114) without being subjected to sample-and-hold operation. The magnetic disk memory is further provided with a circuit (PWM comparator) that controls the slew rate of a driving voltage applied to a terminal of a coil of the voice coil motor during PWM driving. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
