PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for vibration-absorbing items that exhibits excellent vibration-damping properties in a temperature atmosphere of room temperature or higher and excellent elasticity and can be compression-molded. SOLUTION: The composition is a compression-moldable rubber elastomer obtained by incorporating 10-70 pts.wt. of a block copolymer, that has a block composed of a styrene monomer and a vinyl/polyisoprene block in the molecule and has a main dispersion peak of tanδat -40°C or a higher temperature, with 100 pts.wt. of an isobutylene/isoprene copolymer (IIR) and crosslinking the resultant mixture, where the rubber elastomer has a peak temperature of the main dispersion X of 0 to +60°C of tanδat 100 Hz with a peak value of at least 0.4 and has a tanδvalue at 100 Hz larger than a tanδvalue of the main dispersion Y of tanδat 100 Hz of IIR within a temperature range not lower than the peak temperature.
