The apparatus comprises a capsule 1 which contains a two-condition detector: a first condition when the capsule is in the animal's vagina and a second condition when it is ejected to the outside. Passage from the first to the second condition triggers an alarm system. The capsule 1 is fastened to the end of a cable on which, at a certain distance from the capsule, is fastened a clip 11 whose jaws are provided in order to be clamped on the animal's vulva. At least a part of the portion of the cable connecting the clamp 11 to the capsule 1, from the clamp 11, is semi-rigid. In a preferred illustrative embodiment, the detector comprises a system operating by means of gravity. <IMAGE>
