PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic press system, which conducts stable transfer of a billet regardless of the shape and dimension of the billet, needs no exchange work corresponding to the size of the billet, needs no frequent maintenance, conducts dual-purpose vertical and horizontal punching, and deals also a billet with a heavy weight. SOLUTION: The automatic press system has a charge device Cg of a robot type in a forging press P equipped with a multi-stage die. The charge device Cg for supplying a billet to the inlet side of the press P is arranged on a position where the space between a front and rear feed bars 1, 2 arranged respectively in front and rear of a pass line is extended to the inlet side of the press P, through which the billet is supplied to and discharged from the multi-stage die. The charge device Cg may be set on the floor surface of the inlet side of the forging press P, or may be attached on the wall surface of the inlet side of the forging press P. Further, a discharge device Dg of a robot type may be attached on the floor surface of the outlet side of the pass line or on the wall surface of the outlet side of the forging press.
